As a game designer, one must focus on the experience of the player. Sure, you created a game and you think it is exciting, but if you want others to feel that same excitement as you, you should create a game with the player in mind. The game I have in mind, called Rise, makes the player experience the thrill of an action game with some strategic elements put into it. Included with that, I want the player to feel a sense of control, and enjoyment from playing the game.
In order for the player to have this kind of experience from playing my intended game, I would need to incorporate these ideas into my game. For example, putting in a puzzle to proceed to the next level, or putting in action themes to thrill the player. Making the character of the game easier to control will go towards the experience of control for the player. To do that, I would need to make the character animations smoother, and the actions to make the character move flow together.
Capturing this essence would require me to make my game well planned. Also, it would require the game to be not just a simple game, but somewhat of an advanced game.
The other game, The Empire, should make the player experience an old world setting. It should make the player experience the thrill of having control over a colony, and experience using old world weapons like swords and muskets. The Empire should be a game in which the player feels that they have been transported back in time, and experience the life of a soldier in her Majesty's army.
Capturing this essence into my game would require the game to be well planned out. I would need to make the character realistic, make the backgrounds in accordance with old world architecture. The Empire would not be just a simple game, but an advanced game to incorporate all these experiences that the player should feel.
